RESUMO
Este traballho é o resultado de um levantamento das artes e métodos de pesca utilizados na Ria de Aveiro, dos principais recursos alvo, e ainda, dos portos de pesca frequentados pelas embarcações da pesca artesanal local.

São caracterizados os portos, indicado o número aproximado de pescadores profissionais a operar na Ria, o número de embarcações licenciadas pela Direcção-Geral das Pescas e Aquicultura em 2000 e as principais espécies desembarcadas em lota. São também descritas, sumariamente, as artes de pesca usadas na Ria e apresentados os respectivos planos técnicos. Também são sucintamente abordados outros recursos da Ria - Salicultura e Aquicultura.

ABSTRACT
The present study characterises the fishing, methods and gears used by the Portuguese fishermen in the Aveiro Lagune and the fishing, ports used by the local artisanal fishery.

Characteristics include the type of ports, the aproximate number of fishermen and vessels licensed by the "Direcção-Geral das Pesca e Aquicliltlira" (Fishing, Authority), in 2000, the main species landed in the auction, a general description of the fishing -cars and their respective technical details. Other ressources of the Aveiro Lagune,, such as aquaculture and salt exploitation are also considered.
